Open Universities in India | Distance Learning Courses

An Assessment and Accreditation system will be in place for all open universities of India by January 2009. This new system will work on the lines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), which assesses and accredits conventional colleges and universities.

Uttaranchal Open University is the 13th open university of India. it was established in the year 2006 with the aim of providing distance education to the students who are unable to take up full time courses in the state and outside. The university focuses mainly on subjects like tourism and hotel management, natural resources development programmes, forestry and other subjects, which aim towards preservation and development of natural resources.
