Barkatullah University is located in Bhopal. It offers UG, PG and PG Diploma courses. Barkatullah University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2007 - 08 for conducting distance education courses.

Institute of Open and Distance Education was established in 1974-75 with the permission of UGC for imparting education by distance mode. IODE runs many programs at Graduation and Post Graduation level.

Courses - University offers courses in Science (M.Sc-IT), Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com) , PG Diploma and Professional (BBA, BCA, B.LI.Sc, M.LI.Sc, BCJ and MCJ) through distance learning.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided printed self learning study material (SLIM), home assignments and arranging of personal contact programmes.

Study Centres - It has study centres in only in Madhya Pradesh State, situated in and near Bhopal City. Personal Contact Programmes are held in IODE, Barkatullah University campus.

Selection - Students from any part of India can take admission in these courses by fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of Registrar, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal payable at SBI Bhopal. Completed form after enclosing documents and draft can be submitted to University or Study Centre.
