AISECT is sponsoring organization of Dr CV Raman University is located in Bilaspur . University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2009 - 10 for conducting distance education courses. CRVU offers UG, PG, Certificate, PG Diploma and Diploma courses.

The Institute of Open and Distance Education of Dr CV Raman University was set up in Feb, 2009 and recognized by the Distance Education Council on 1st May, 2009. Mr. Santosh Choubey , Chairman and Founder, AISECT & Chancellor Dr. C.V Raman University, heads the organization in its entirety and controls its centralised functioning, policy planning initiatives and strategy for the organization.

AISECT, has signed an MoU with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to deliver various educational programmes, especially in the rural and semi urban areas of the country. Under this unique partnership, IGNOU will certify all of AISECT's Certificate, Diploma and PG Diploma Programs.

Courses - AISECT offers courses in Computers, Management and Vocational courses delivered through "AISECT-IGNOU Learning Centers". Dr CV Raman University offers BBA, BCA, MCA, M.Sc (Information Technology & Computer Science), Commerce (B.Com & M.Com) and Vocational (Diploma, Certificate & PG Diploma) courses through distance learning.

Methodology (AISECT) - The teaching methodology is based on multimedia techniques which include (1) Regular Teaching/Training, (2) Study Material for self study, (3) counseling at the study centre to provide required guidance and evaluation of student's progress, (4) Practical facilities at the Study Centre, (5) Use of Audio/Video facilities for teaching and (6) Online Training.

Study Centres - AISECT has study centres in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Orissa, Pondicherry, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Dr CV Raman University has study centres in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Selection - For selection into a Program of AISECT a National Advertisement is issued and interviews is held at the Study Centres. Selection of students will be on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam and performance in the interviews.

Application Procedure (AISECT) - At the time of admission, the candidates will have to appear at the study centre of their choice with the documents in original. Course Material shall be provided in Hindi or English depending on availability by AISECT Ltd. Registration for AISECT Programs is done for academic sessions held in July-June and Jan-Dec every year. Admission process for Dr CV Raman University and AISECT is independent of each other.

Fees - Academic fees for AISECT and Dr CV Raman University courses is through demand draft. For AISECT DD should be in the name of AISECT LTD., BHOPAL payable at Bhopal. And to register for CVRU course draft should be in the name of Dr. C.V. Raman University, payable at Bilaspur. AISECT application will be submitted in AISECT study centre and CVRU application will be sent by post to the University address.
