Jiwaji University is located in Gwalior. It offers UG, PG and PG Diploma courses. Jiwaji University got provisional recognition from DEC in 2007 - 08 for conducting distance education courses. Jiwaji University had established an Institute in Distance Education in 1995 to run various professional and conventional academic programmes through distance mode. Later it was renamed School of Studies in Distance Education. Courses - University offers courses in Science (B.Sc), Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com & M.Com) , PG Diploma (Psychological counseling, Computer Application, HRD, Yoga Education) and Professional (MBA, B.Lib, M.Lib, BJMC, MJMC and MSW) through distance learning.
Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided counseling, contact programmes, home assignments and annual examinations as per DEC recommended guidelines. In Each course 10 days personal contact classes will be arranged / organized, with the help of subject experts concern at SOS and or study centers. During the classes, lectures and guidance on the course, theories, practicals, projects, field work will be included.
Note - 30% marks are for assignment work (Internal Valuation). The student has to submit his/her assignment work response sheet (answer book) in the SOS as per instructions on/or before the given date. A student can not appear in the annual theory examinations, if he/she does not submit the completed assignment work(s) on or before the given date.
Study Centres - The School of Studies in Distance Education, Jiwaji University offers contact programmes from its main campus, as well as from a number of education centers in different affiliated colleges. Districts which come under the Jiwaji University Jurisdiction are Bhind, Datia, Guna, Gwalior, Morena, Sheopur, Ashok Nagar and Shivpuri. Colleges in these districts are study and examination centers of Jiwaji University.
Selection - Admissions for all courses shall be made from 16 September of each year to provide opportunity to the education seekers. Admission is open to all those who pass the prescribed minimum qualification. Admissions will be made provisionaly, subject to verification of required documents and eligibility conditions.
Application Procedure - Admission form can be collected directly from the School of Studies in Distance Education or any study center or download from the University website. Course fee is paid in form of demand draft in favour of “Registrar, Jiwaji University, Gwalior”. The fee may be deposited by the Bank Challan in the Central Bank of India in any branch of M.P or D.D. from any Nationalised Bank. Complete admission form along with photo copies of documents and the required course fee (First Installment), should be submitted in the School of Studies of Distance Education or in their Study Centres, or send by post in the name of “Director, Distance Education, Distance Education Building, Jiwaji University Campus, Gwalior M.P. Pin 474011” up to 15th October without late fee and by 30th November with Late fees.
