MM Educational Trust was established in 1993 and the UGC has granted its approval of Deemed University status in June 2007. Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana-Ambala was established under the aegis of the reputed MM Education Trust. MM Institute of Distance Education, Mullana was established as a constituent institute of MM University.

Courses - University offers courses in Science (B.Sc & M.Sc), Arts (B.A & M.A), Commerce (B.Com & M.Com) , Vocational (Diploma & Certificate), PG Diploma (Hospital health management, Computer Application, Journalism & Mass Communication, International Business, Business Management and Translation) and Professional (BCA, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc in Optometry, B.Li.Sc, MCA, MBA and M.Li.Sc) through distance learning.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided Instructional material in the form of printed study material, Regular counseling sessions, intensive short term condensed Personal Contact Programme(s) both for Theory and Practical contents of the course of 7-21 days duration, for each depending upon the requirement of each course. The annual examination are tentatively held in April/May. Study Material is supplemented by Assignments. The students must write their MMIDE Ref. No. and class on each page of the Assignments which should be sent directly to the Coordinator, Student Support Services, MM Institute of Distance Education, M.M. University, Mullana – Ambala, 133-207 together with a self addressed envelope for expeditious return of the same after evaluation by the teachers.

Study Centres - It has study centres in Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttaranchal, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. Candidates will recieve receipt of fee, study material, theory and practical classes, evaluation, examination, admit card, results, DMC etc from their respective study centres. The Institute has well planned spacious class rooms with the provisions of LCD/OHP, etc. for the conduct of the contact classes of the students of distance education courses. Centres of the Examination are (1) M.M. University, Mullana-Ambala, (2) M.M. University, Sadopur-Ambala and (3) M.M. Group of Institutions, Ramba-Karnal

Selection - Admissions to various programs offered by the University are made strictly on the basis of eligibility criteria mentioned in the Prospectus. Candidates qualified from the recognized Board/University shall be offered admission. All admissions shall be provisional subject to confirmation of admission by the University. A candidate cannot enroll for two courses of this or any other University simultaneously.

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from University or Study Centre or Website. Admission Forms appended at the end of Prospectus, duly filled in, along with requisite documents, should be sent to the Admission Office, MM Institute of Distance Education, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana-Ambala-133207 in an envelope mentioning the name of the course with year of the course.

Fees - Entire Fees will be accepted through crossed Bank Drafts bearing the signature of the issuing authority, identity Number and Code Number of Payee's Bank, and should be drawn in favour of the Registrar, Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana payable at Ambala only from a bank having its branch in Ambala. Fess should be submitted along with Admission / Re registration and other forms as applicable. The candidate is expected to write his Name , Father's name , Course applied for, Semester / Year, Study Centre name and code at the back of the demand draft.
