The University is located in Nashik. It offers UG, PG, Certificate, PG Diploma and Diploma courses. YCMOU has Regular recognition from DEC from 08/04/2008 to 07/04/2013 for conducting distance education courses under ODL (Open Distance Learning) system.

The university was established on 1st July, 1989 through Act XX of 1989 of the Maharashtra State Legislature. All architecture graduate and PG courses are approved by the Council of Architecture. Hence, after successful completion student shall be entitled to practice as an architect after registration. YCMOU is recognized by the UGC. It is the fifth Open University in the country. A recent amendment in the act allows this university to establish study centers, even outside the state of Maharashtra.

Methodology - Under Academic activities students are provided study material, writing of response sheets, home assignments and arranging of personal contact programmes. Something about examinations.

 

Study Centres - The Head office of YCMOU is located at Nashik, India. The university operates through its eight Regional Centers (RCs) at Amaravati, Aurangabad, Goa, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nanded, Nashik, Pune and several Study Centers in Maharashtra.

Selection - Admission to courses are made through Merit, entrance and in some courses preference is given to work experience. Selection depends course-wise.

 

Application Procedure - Application form can be obtained from Bank of Maharashtra. They will provide challans for the selected academic programme at the chosen Study Centre. Candidate should pay amount of fees to the nearest branch of Bank of Maharashtra giving them the filled challan (in four parts). Student should attach one to the admission form, second submitted to the study centre and third one is for student. The concerned branch of Bank of Maharashtra will retain one part of the challan. Admission will be confirmed by YCMOU after verifying the application form.
